Ever wondered what the Xbox 360 red ring of death codes were really all about? Well I never paid too much attention to it until I was forced to deal with it. It all began on a clear cool Saturday afternoon. I had been looking forward to my day off and figured I would catch up on some gaming. So I switched on my Xbox 360 and instead of booting up I was greeted by some flashing red rights. Needless to say, my day was ruined. After doing some research to figure out just what in blazes was wrong, I realized that it was called the 3 rings of death which was the most common and most rampant error which affects only the Xbox 360. My room mate had conveniently gone to visit her folks that day but she would have a lot to answer for when she got back.

I was crushed. My weekend as I knew it was already over before it began. I had just bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. And I had just hastily torn off the shrink wrap with the high hopes of having an excellent time. But I decided not to give up yet and see if I could still salvage the rest of my weekend. I literally spent the whole day researching what the Xbox 360 red ring of death codes meant and this is what I came up with.

Error Codes For One Red Light

E45: This is an unknown error, but it could have something to do with dashboard update.

E64: This is a DVD Error or it could be a DVD Timeout problem or Wrong firmware.

E65: This is caused by DVD Timeout, Wrong firmware, or caused by not closing the tray before boot or shutdown.

E66: Your DVD model, or version is not the correct match for your dashboard. The problem could also be that your firmware is too old.

E67: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive,

E68: The hard drive might be the problem. Or the connection to it is loose. Try playing without it. This can also be caused by a Hard Drive Eprom Error or a problem with the fans.

E69: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive,

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Using the « Console Reset Codes » might fix the problem.

E72: (unknown error)

E73:: There is something wrong with the Ethernet port or it could be a general hardware error

E74: Try using a new AV cable. But it could also be the GPU (Graphical Processing unit).

E76: (unknown error)

E79: It could be Caused by a Hard Drive Error… or there might be a loose connection.

And this is only a few of the possible errors that can affect your Xbox 360. You can find a full list through my blog link below.

Chris Jones Xbox 360 Fix

I was able to discover what these Xbox 360 red ring of death codes meant after I picked up Chris Jones Xbox fix guide. It had the solutions to every Xbox 360 problem that exists. And even though I spent the entire day looking for information, after I got the Chris Jones fix I was able to repair my Xbox console in under 3 hours the next day.

There were other similar guides available too which promised to fix all my Xbox 360 problems, so I decided to test out the 2 other top competing guides for a total of 3 guides and the results of my analysis was quite shocking to me.
